Mar. 6th, 2008 01:40 pm The Pink Panther

Went to lunch today at a little cajun place and there was a picture of the Pink Panther and his supporting cast.
The detective, the anteater, the ant, and the naked guy with a hat.
The Pink Panther is completely without clothes, but the anteater has both a shirt and pants.
WHY?
Tell me the logic in naked pink panthers but clothed anteaters.

Stupid French junkies.

Feb. 21st, 2008 02:44 pm Puzzling Part 2

Well, I thought and and I thought and much to my surprise, I thought some more.
We were unable to make 1 team, so I went and made two teams, informing Eric, and added peoples to the teams.

team 1: White Team
Scott Brown - 5 points
Sarah Holiday - 2 points
Bill Sherling - 6 points
Robert Ford - 6 points

team 2: Yellow Team
Ed Boudreaux - 5 points
Scott Richardson - 3 points
Robert Voitle - 2 points
Tim Hardwick - 6 points
Luke McCampbell - 2 points

So, with 19 and 18 points, there is still room for people to join if they wish to. Also, I didn't know if Chuck would come down if Luke makes it.
Further, someone anonymously said they were interested, and I would like to help them be on a team, but need to know who they are.

Feb. 14th, 2008 01:53 pm Puzzling

Eric sent out a reminder about Puzzle Party 7 and the time has come to get my team together.
Last time, my team was Scott Brown, Robert Ford, Blane Hollingsworth, Bill Sherling, Edward Boudreaux, Sharon Yarbrough.
We won and designed the next puzzle party. Eric Harshbarger and his group won, they are hosting this one.
The team formation is different than it has been in times past.

A Player Value is determined in the following way:

  • If the player has never been to one of my Parties (or the Fall 2007 "Detective" PuzzleHunt), he or she has a Value of 3.
  • Otherwise, a player's Value is equal to 4 plus the number of trophies he or she has won at past Parties, as indicated on this spreadsheet.
  • Finally, if a player is coming to EPP7 and does not live in the Auburn/Opelika area, their Value is reduced by 1.

  • Scott Brown is 5 points
    Robert Ford is 6 points
    Blane Hollingsworth is 5 points
    Bill Sherling is 6 points
    Edward Boudreaux is 5 points
    Sharon Yarbrough is 4 points
    I am 6 points.
37 out of a possible 25 points, we cannot put back together blue team.
Blane has already formed a new RED team and Robert is interested in reteaming.
This message is to everyone else out there that reads this. Eddie, Sharon - interested? Zach, Luke, Chuck? Anyone?
It will be fun if you like hard puzzles and running all around the city trying to solve them. If we get enough people so that we have to form two teams, we can talk about making sure that some people from Auburn are on each team so that out of towners will still get full enjoyment. Plus, they should know the people that are on their team.

The thing is, we need people to commit to it if they are interested so that we can form the teams before the team slots are taken. There are only two colors left and if we are going to have all of the above people involved, we are going to need both of those colors. Leave me a phone number to talk if you are interested.

Here is the link for people interested in looking up stuff for themselves. The names of the puzzles are listed now.

    Jan. 4th, 2008 03:27 pm R.I.P. Spidermarriage

I have decided to quit collecting Amazing Spiderman because of executive decisions by Quesada, Marvel CEO. They decided that they wanted Spiderman to be back as a bachelor, so they wrote ONE MORE DAY, a four issue collection where Peter Parker and Mary Jane Parker-Watson have to decide if they will give up their marriage and their love, such that it never happened to save the life of Aunt May. They decide to do it.

Cut to an interview with Queseda, and he is asked, "Why not simply have them divorce?"
His answer, "Can you see that come over the AP wire that Spiderman got divorced from his wife, what message does that say to little kids?"

    FUCKWIT!
TO PREVENT SPIDERMAN FROM HAVING A DIVORCE, YOU HAVE HIM MAKE A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL, WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE DOES THAT SAY TO LITTLE KIDS?

Oh, and to boot, they have used the full continuity rewrite to have spiderman never reveal his identity, to bring back Harry Osborne, also unmarried. One fan asked, "Did every marriage in the Marvel Universe get annulled?"
Marvel used to be the company that cared about continuity and about history. Things that happened in one comic had ramifications in other comics. Now they have thrown it away.
I can no longer collect Spiderman in any of its forms, and I am going to be rethinking every Marvel title.

    QUESADA = FUCKWIT.

    Jul. 9th, 2007 12:30 pm 4th of July plus

    Wednesday:
The wife, the daughter and I go up to visit my wife's parents, Sue's sister is there with her husband, Clay, and their two boys, Noah and Logan. That evening, we go out in the boat and watch a display of fireworks a couple of inlets over. Not impressive, but a good time. Kinda late when we got back, so we all slept.
    Thursday:
I finished up A Dirty Job and I recommend it to anyone that wants to laugh. I also caught up on the 4400 third season, trying to rewatch all of those before getting too far into this current season. Thursday night we went and saw Transformers. I liked it, it wasn't horrible.
    Friday:
Tried to track down whether the game store in West Town mall in Knoxville that I liked called The Gameboard had closed or not. Apparently it had, and Nord's games had opened in the mall to replace it. I like the Nord's games in the Galleria in Birmingham, so I figured I would like this one. We all went out in the pontoon boat and did some tubing, much fun, and later that evening went to go and watch Ratatouille. I didn't really want to see that movie, but instead of jumping across town to go to the game store, I went to see Live Free or Die Hard. Not a bad action flick, but nothing like the first one. It just continues to get more and more improbable.
    Saturday:
Late breakfast and Chris/Clay/Logan/Noah hit the road. We went and had one more boat ride, Sierra tubing for almost thirty minutes, and headed down to Chattanooga. We went to Lake Winnepesauka or some name similar. This is a quaint little amusement park where much fun was had by the family and I. Spent the night in Chattanooga.
    Sunday:
Headed into Atlanta and attended the Mage game. My wife and daughter headed back to Auburn and I got a ride back to Auburn with Scott Brown. Enjoyed the mage game, enjoyed seeing everyone, but was very happy to be home last night.
    Today:
    work.

    Jun. 26th, 2007 03:56 pm This weekend

I went to something called Oasis of Fun, a board game get-together hosted in Atlanta, and had myself a blast.
Here is a list of most of the games that I played:
    Ubongo
Fun game. I bought it, so if anyone wants to try it, just give me a yell.
    Aqueduct
Neat game, it was won on the prize table by Eric.
    Take It Easy
There is a flash game of this, if anyone is interested, I'll put the link up here for you guys.
    Friesen-Törn
    This game wasn't that good.
    Emerald
Fun game, Blane has it, so we really should play it more often.
    Zooloretto
Won this game on the prize table, thought my daughter would like it. So far, she does.
    Looping Louie
I own this, pleased to see it has come back out again.
    On the Underground
I bought this game, I really like rail games, and this was a pretty neat one.
    Tumblin' Dice
This game is fun, but takes up quite a bit of room. I wouldn't mind playing it again, not sure that I need to own it.
    1313 Dead End Drive
    Forgettable
    Civilization
I brought this game with me, just to get a game up.
    Die Kutschfahrt zur Teufelsburg
I'll have to play this one again. I enjoyed playing the game with the people that I played with, but not too sure about the game itself.
    Blokus Trigon
Pretty close to Blokus, I already own this game.
    Dancing Dice
Neat variation on Yahtzee type game.
    Himmelsstürmer
    Very neat, very cool pieces.
    Saint Petersburg
    Tichu
    Ca$h'n Gun$
Excellent game, looking forward to playing again. Eric has said that he is going to get a copy.
    Nicht die Bohne
Cutthroat little game, harsher than three person pinochle. I look forward to playing again.

Luke, Edward, check out Atlanta Games Fest, a very similar type thing.

Jun. 1st, 2007 08:56 am SO you think you can dance

It has started back up and my daughter is already rewatching the TiVo'd episodes, picking out favorites.
One of the girls from her dance studio made it through to Vegas and we are interested with how she will do, and if we will get to see any of it. She was hardly shown in the Atlanta show at all.
I was saying to my daughter that we haven't really seen any Tap dancers make it very far in the competition when a Clogger makes it to Vegas. There don't seem to be half as many men in Vegas as women. I watched Fame, aren't there as many good male dancers as female?

    May. 15th, 2007 05:00 pm SERE Summary

I think that the change from SERE every year to SERE every two years has really hurt the unity of the region. The positive vibe that is SERE really helps us get to know one another and truly gel as a region. Without Neglect(USCC) in this region, it would have been more apparent and worse, although the featured games of the month really help.

Let us do this by Venue.
Venues: Mage, Forsaken, Requiem, Drinking )
OOC - Woot! I especially like to see the Florida peeps who I never get to see, and I am looking forward to ICC. Hopefully, I can make it to SEFRE. Anyone else going?
